God Takes Care of Little Kids and Dummies

Last night, we had an opportunity to experience God’s “perfect peace”.  Jared called us about 6 pm (California time) telling us that his heart was racing and pounding in his chest.  We advised him to go to Saline hospital, which he reluctantly did.  We immediately prayed for him and he soon called us back and said that they had placed him on a heart monitor and his pulse was 160.  They diagnosed him with atrial fibrillation. They found that he was low in potassium and started an IV and gave him potassium.  They wanted to transfer him to St Joseph hospital in Ann Arbor but they had no beds, so they kept him in Saline overnight.  They released him this morning (7 am, Michigan time).  His heart rate had dropped very low and they stopped the IV drip.  They attributed the racing heart to the fact that he has been dieting (lost about 60 lbs in last 4 months) and drinking a fair amount of diet coke with caffeine.
The weird part of this was that through this whole thing, I had this sense of calmness and I almost felt guilty that I was not worried.  Then laying in bed this morning, a verse came to me over and over again:
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
I thought what a dummy I was, for feeling guilty for not worrying.
