Yesterday we went to Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park. As we were driving and walking around looking at the marvelous natural awesome beauty and demonstration on God’s power and creative ability. I thought of the verses in Romans 1. How arrogant and stupid is man that when he looks at all this and says it happened by chance
From the very creation of the world, His invisible perfections—namely His eternal power and divine nature—have been rendered intelligible and clearly visible by His works, so that these men are without excuse.
BUT
when they had come to know God, they did not give Him glory as God nor render Him thanks, but they became absorbed in useless discussions, and their senseless minds were darkened.
They bartered away the reality of God for what is unreal, and offered divine honors and religious service to created things, rather than to the Creator—He who is forever blessed.
But why should we be surprised because Paul warned Timothy:
Don’t be naive. There are difficult times ahead. As the end approaches, people are going to be self-absorbed, money-hungry, self-promoting, stuck-up, profane, contemptuous of parents, crude, coarse….. always learning something new, and yet are never able to arrive at real knowledge of the truth.
