We Don’t Do That In Our Church!

After my last blog, I’m sure many of you are saying or thinking, We Don’t Do That In Our Church!  We don’t talk to Satan or his demons.  Well, let me tell you something, you may not be talking to him, but he IS listening to you.  If you think that if you can just ignore him, you are dead wrong!
Jesus could not ignore Satan.  What makes you think you can?
Satan talked to Jesus in the wilderness and said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”
What did Jesus do?
He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.”
Three times Satan spoke and three times Jesus answered back.
Three times Jesus answered back with scripture.
In Matthew Jesus rebuked His disciples when they could not heal a little boy: “O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me.”
After Jesus finished rebuking the disciples, He “rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour.”
Demons talked to Paul:
“Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune-telling. 17This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, “These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.” 18And this she did for many days.
AND
“Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And he came out that very hour.” (Act 16:16-18)
I don’t find any scriptural basis to think that Satan’s mode of operation has changed since then. AND, I know Jesus has not changed.
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and to-day, yea and for ever.” SO “be not carried away by divers and strange teachings”.
MAYBE,
It’s time you started imitating Jesus, like Paul did!
After all, We are His body!
